Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Imisi Eniola Ayanwale has spoken about her relationship with her mother, saying she is ready to forgive and move forward.

In an interview on Channels TV, Imisi addressed questions about her family life and the distance between her and her mother. She said their bond while she was growing up was not strong, but she no longer holds any resentment.

The conversation took place months after her victory on Big Brother Naija brought public attention to her personal life.

Imisi said she understands the challenges her mother may have faced while raising a child, stating that forgiveness is possible and necessary for peace.

“She is my mom, and I’m a woman; I know the pain it takes to bring a child into this world. If God wills it… yeah, I can forgive her. I’ve forgiven people who aren’t even related to me, so of course I can forgive her.

“Growing up, we didn’t really have a strong relationship. But I don’t have anything against her. She’s doing well, and I’m doing well. Honestly, I don’t know. Maybe she should just be a better person. But she should keep praying the Lord is with her,” she said.

Their strained relationship became widely discussed months after Imisi’s Big Brother Naija win, when videos surfaced of her mother accusing her of neglect.

Imisi explained that the challenges between them started long before fame, adding, however, that despite the situation, she has continued to offer support.
