The Presidency has clarified the exit of Kayode Egbetokun from the seat of Inspector General of Police.

According to presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, he clarified that Egbetokun resigned as IGP; he was not sacked.

He said, “Egbetokun resigned today. He was not sacked. A statement will be issued later.”

The erstwhile IGP, whose appointment was extended last year, reportedly turned in his resignation letter, citing personal family reasons for his action.

Details later.
