Kehinde Adegbodu, the surviving member of the popular gospel music duo, the Adegbodu Twins, has opened up about the final moments he shared with his twin brother, Taiwo Adegbodu, shortly before his sudden death.

Taiwo’s death was announced earlier in the month, although details surrounding the cause of his passing were not made public.

Speaking in a video that has since circulated widely on social media, Kehinde recalled that his brother appeared healthy and energetic just hours before the incident that led to his death.

According to him, the day had unfolded normally for both of them, as they went about their usual activities and concluded the evening with their regular night prayers.

“We usually have our night prayer by 9 pm every day. That Saturday was no different. We prayed together at 9 pm, and afterwards everyone went to bed,” he said.

Kehinde explained that about an hour later, around 10 pm, he went to Taiwo’s room to remind him of their church service scheduled for 10 am the following morning.

“At about 10 pm, I went to Taiwo’s room to tell him that church service was at 10 am the next day. When I got there, he was playing games on his phone, and he told me he would sleep early,” he said.

However, the calm evening soon took an unexpected turn.

Kehinde said that shortly before 11 pm, Taiwo knocked on his door and complained of experiencing a sharp pain in his chest.

Concerned about his brother’s condition, Kehinde suggested they immediately visit a nearby hospital, which he said was only about five minutes away from their home.

Believing it was a routine medical check, the brothers left for the hospital together, unaware that the visit would turn out to be their final outing together.

The Adegbodu Twins were widely known within the Yoruba gospel music community. Born in Oyo State, the identical brothers devoted their lives to spreading the gospel through music.
