The garden produced vegetables including spinach, waterleaf and fluted pumpkin.
After harvesting the vegetables, Tinubu shared part of the produce with members of her staff. She also reminded Nigerians of the importance of showing compassion by giving to others.
The First Lady unveiled the Villa vegetable garden in July 2024 under her Renewed Hope Initiative to encourage household farming and improve food security as food prices continue to rise.
The initiative was launched alongside the Every Home A Garden competition to encourage women and families across the country to grow vegetables in their homes.
At the launch, Tinubu said the garden was intended to demonstrate that even small household spaces could be used to grow nutritious food while reducing the cost of feeding.
