The management of Bauchi State-owned Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) has donated office furniture to the newly established Gadau Divisional Police Headquarters in a move aimed at strengthening collaboration between the university and security agencies.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fatimah Tahir, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Aminu Umar Kura, said the donation was part of the university’s corporate social responsibility and its commitment to sustaining the cordial relationship between the institution and the Nigeria Police Force.

The items donated include one executive office table and chair set, two semi-executive office table and chair sets, as well as six visitors’ chairs.

Prof. Aminu Umar Kura said security is indispensable to peaceful coexistence between the university and its host communities.

He added that the gesture was intended to further strengthen the partnership in safeguarding lives and property, particularly for students residing off campus.

While receiving the items, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Bala Babayo, expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and the management of Sa’adu Zungur University for the timely support.

He said the furniture would provide a more conducive working environment for officers and improve service delivery at the division.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, through the DPO, commended the university’s management for the kind gesture.

The CP described the donation as a clear demonstration of partnership in crime prevention and assured the university community of the command’s continued commitment to protecting students and residents of Gadau and its environs.

He further pledged that the police would sustain synergy with the university to ensure a safe and secure environment for teaching, learning and community development.

The university delegation at the presentation included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), the Registrar, the Acting Bursar, the University Librarian and the Director of Works.

The command appreciated the partnership and called on other stakeholders to emulate Sa’adu Zungur University in supporting security agencies, according to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib.
