Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has approved the formation of a government delegation for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

The committee will be chaired by HRM Johnson Diyo Matalo, the Gubo Yungur.

The members of the delegation are: Senator Rev. Amos Yohanna, Hon. Japhet Hammajabu, Mr. Samuel Chinda, Rev. Father Anselm Kachalla and Dr. Bartholomew Nyalas – Secretary.

Upon the committee’s formation, Governor Fintiri congratulated its members and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and patriotism in their duties.

“You have been chosen to represent the government and the good people of Adamawa State. This is both an honour and a responsibility.

“I urge you to be exemplary ambassadors of our dear state. Conduct yourselves with dignity and ensure that the pilgrimage is smooth and purposeful,” said the Governor.

He also advised the committee to collaborate closely with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission and other relevant authorities to ensure the welfare and safety of all pilgrims from Adamawa State.

Governor Fintiri emphasised the need for the delegation to justify the trust placed in them by being transparent, accountable, and focused on the spiritual objectives of the pilgrimage.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting religious activities that promote peace, unity, and moral values in the state.
