The Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has won Ede South Local Government Area in the ongoing Osun State governorship election, defeating his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
According to the result sheet from the local government collation, Adeleke recorded a clear lead over Oyebamiji across the 10 registration areas in Ede South.
The result showed that the Accord Party polled 26,188 votes, while the APC recorded 6,219 votes, giving Adeleke a wide margin in the local government.
Other political parties recorded significantly lower figures in the local government.
The result sheet showed 33,210 valid votes, while 740 votes were rejected, with the total votes cast recorded as 33,950.
The Ede South result is expected to strengthen Adeleke’s position in the ongoing collation of results from the state’s 30 local government areas.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to review and announce the local government results as collation continues at the respective centres before the final declaration at the state collation centre in Osogbo.
