Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that Kano’s political class is now more united than at any time in the state’s history, following recent realignments within the political landscape.

Yusuf added that since the decampment, more political actors and supporters had continued to reunite, stressing that previously divided political families were now coming back together.

“Anyone who means well for the people of Kano should align with the Federal Government, because we have missed a lot,” the governor stated, reiterating his belief that such alignment would open more opportunities for the state.

According to him, the decision to join the ruling party at the federal level was driven by the desire to align Kano State with the central government for greater developmental benefits.

The governor made the assertion when the Ward and Local Government Congress Committee paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Kano.

In a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad, Yusuf said the political atmosphere in the state had witnessed renewed harmony, particularly after his defection alongside others to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He commended members of the Ward and Local Government Congress Committee for what he described as a job well done during the conduct of the congresses across the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Ward/LGA Congress Committee, Mr. Lantep Dabang, expressed appreciation to the governor for his leadership and fairness, particularly in the sharing formula of positions arising from the congresses.

Dabang described Governor Yusuf as a leader of integrity and justice, noting that his role contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the exercises statewide.

The visit, according to the statement, underscored the growing political cohesion in Kano as stakeholders continue to consolidate under a unified platform.
