Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested a security guard, Emmanuel Ojo, who allegedly fled to Ogun State after stealing two generators worth N950,000 from his employer in Akure.

Ojo, according to the police, allegedly used his position as a security guard to gain access to the generators—one Fireman and one Honda—before absconding from the state.

Detectives from the state police command launched a manhunt for him following a complaint by his employer and later traced him to Ogun State, where he was arrested.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) Abayomi Jimoh , explained that the suspect confessed to the offence and provided useful information during interrogation.

Jimoh added that Ojo had been charged to court after the completion of the investigation.

In another operation, the command arrested two suspected members of the Eiye Confraternity in Ondo town.

The suspects, Yusuf Taye, 30, and Damilola Ojo, 23, were arrested on Loro Street and Temidire Street respectively.

Abayomi said detectives, acting on intelligence, obtained and executed a search warrant at Damilola Ojo’s residence, where they recovered a small axe, two live cartridges and a parcel of suspected Indian hemp.

He said preliminary investigation linked the two suspects to the Eiye Confraternity, adding that they reportedly admitted their affiliation during questioning.

The police spokesman said the suspects and recovered exhibits had been transferred to the command’s Anti-Cultism Squad in Akure for further investigation and prosecution.

Abayomi reiterated the command’s commitment to combating cultism, violent crimes and other criminal activities across the state.

He advised youths to shun cultism and other violent associations, warning that involvement in such activities could expose them to serious legal consequences.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide the police with credible information that could assist in preventing and detecting crimes.
