The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo West (Orlu zone) senatorial campaign organisation for its candidate, Hon. Jones Onyereri, has commenced a sensitisation tour across the 12 Local Government Areas of the senatorial district of Imo State.
This is part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures, foster unity among party leaders and prepare the party for the 2027 general elections.
The tour began in Oguta Local Government Area on the first day, proceeding to Njaba LGA, where the campaign train received a warm welcome from the PDP leadership and stakeholders.
At both Oguta and Njaba LGAs, the campaign train was warmly received by party faithful and supporters with enthusiasm and fanfare, attracting the attention of residents and onlookers in the area.
In his remarks, the PDP Orlu zone senatorial candidate, Hon. Jones Onyereri, appreciated the party leadership for the warm reception accorded to them and reaffirmed his commitment to working with the people and party stakeholders to advance the development of Imo West Senatorial District.
He assured the people of Njaba that his aspiration to represent Orlu Zone in the Senate was driven by a commitment to effective representation, inclusive development, youth empowerment, women’s advancement and improved opportunities for the people.
Hon. Onyereri emphasised that women, youths, men and other groups across Njaba and the entire Orlu Zone would be important stakeholders in his vision for a more prosperous and inclusive senatorial district.
He further stressed the importance of a united and well-organised PDP, noting that strong grassroots structures and cooperation among party leaders would be essential to the party’s success in 2027.
The Njaba engagement forms part of the broader LGA-to-LGA PDP leadership sensitisation tour, designed to strengthen internal party relationships, encourage effective coordination and prepare the party’s structures across the 12 LGAs of Imo West Senatorial District for the forthcoming electoral contests.
The visit provided an opportunity for Hon. Jones Onyereri and his team to interact directly with the PDP LGA and ward leadership, strengthen existing relationships, discuss the state of the party, and reinforce the need for unity, cooperation and effective grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Welcoming the campaign train, the Njaba PDP leadership, led by Hon. Chidi Arimnuta, welcomed the delegation and expressed confidence in the prospects of the party and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
