The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has conducted ward and Local Government congresses across the 147 wards, with executives emerging through consensus.

The committee chairman for the congresses across the 14 Local Government Areas in Zamfara State said the exercise was peaceful and orderly.

Addressing newsmen in Gusau on Sunday evening, the committee chairman of the congresses in Zamfara State, Barrister Babande Babakura Imam, said the exercise was peaceful, well coordinated, and successful across the state.

Imam noted that both the ward and LGA congresses in Zamfara recorded an impressive turnout of party stakeholders and members.

“All the ward and LGA executives produced by the congresses emerged through sincere consensus and affirmation.

“The congresses were monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies, party officials from the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, and state APC representatives,” Imam added.

According to him, the LGA congresses produced APC executives in all 14 LGAs in the state.

Also speaking, the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, described the successful exercise as a welcome development.

“As we all know, the progressive party is committed to transparency and an inclusive process.

“These successful congresses will enhance and strengthen unity and internal harmony in the party,” he said.
