The Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has urged the newly appointed career and non-career ambassadors to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu in his efforts to change the global perception about the nation.

He also emphasised the crucial need for them to “deploy their experience and expertise as technocrats and leaders in order to excel in their respective postings.”

In a statement forwarded to journalists, Igboho, who lauded Tinubu on the posting of the ambassadors, advised that “Nigerians regardless of tribes, religion, political, and ethnic consideration, to project the country positively despite its socioeconomic challenges.”

Recall that the President had, on Friday, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, released the posting of 65 new ambassadors, detailing their countries of primary assignments.

The list includes, among others, former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode, who was posted to Germany, Professor Isaac Adewole (Canada), Reno Omokri (Mexico), Lt-General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) (China), Kayode Are (US), former Nigeria Intelligence Agency (NIA) boss, Ayodeji Oke (France), and Chioma Ohakim (Poland).

However, Igboho appreciated Tinubu over Fani Kayode’s appointment, just as he commended the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, and President’s lawyer, Oluwole Afolabi SAN, for their efforts.

“I, on behalf of Chief Fani Kayode, want to specifically commend President Bola Tinubu for deeming it fit to appoint him and other Yoruba indigenes as ambassadors for our diplomatic missions. This is indeed commendable.

“It is also noteworthy to thank the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao and President Bola Tinubu’s lawyer, Oluwole Afolabi SAN, over Fani Kayode’s appointment as the nation’s ambassador to Germany,” the statement concluded.
