The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Zamfara State Chapter, has condoled the Gummi Emirate Council over the persistent security challenges that resulted in the loss of innocent lives within communities in the area.

In a statement issued by the publicity secretary of ADC in the state, Comrade Anas Haidara Kaura, the state chairman, Alhaji Shehu Maishanu Gulubba, has condoled and sympathised with the people of Gummi Emirate over security challenges that include banditry, kidnapping, and the loss of innocent lives that affect communities.

The statement reads in part: “The ADC delegation was received at the Emir’s Palace by Alhaji Armiyau Abubakar, Sarkin Tudun Gummi, who represented the Emir of Gummi, His Royal Highness Justice Lawal Hassan Gummi.

“During the visit, Alhaji Shehu Maishanu Gulubba expressed deep concern over the continued incidents of banditry, kidnapping, and killings across Zamfara State, particularly in Gummi Emirate.

“He lamented that the prevailing insecurity and suffering being experienced by citizens are largely consequences of poor governance and failure of leadership at various levels.

The State Chairman urged the people to remain steadfast and prayerful while emphasising the need for citizens to utilise their democratic rights by electing leaders who are competent, trustworthy, God-fearing, and genuinely committed to the welfare of the people.

In his response, Alhaji Armiyau Abubakar, Sarkin Tudun Gummi, who represented His Royal Highness Justice Lawal Hassan Gummi, appreciated the ADC leadership for the visit and described it as a demonstration of compassion and solidarity.

The ADC Chairman was accompanied on the visit by the State Secretary, Dr Ahmad Hashim, the ADC Chairman of Gummi Local Government Area, party executives, stakeholders, and other prominent members of the party.
