Ahead of the 2027 election in the country, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially presented a certificate of return to its senatorial candidates in Imo State.
This follows the successful conclusion of the party’s nomination process for the 2027 general elections.
The PDP senatorial candidate for Imo East (senatorial district) received his certificates at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, alongside the candidate for the Imo West senatorial district, Hon. Jones Onyereri; the candidate for Imo West; and High Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, the candidate for the Imo North Senatorial District (Okigwe Zone).
The presentation formally certifies their emergence as the duly elected senatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking, Prince Madumere expressed optimism and reaffirmed commitment to providing effective representation, strengthening the party’s grassroots structure, and working towards the electoral success of the PDP across the three senatorial zones of the state.
The American-trained technocrat expressed confidence in his competence, capacity, experience, reach and contacts to effectively serve the citizenry and deliver dividends of democracy.
He highlighted that his quest in the National Assembly would be to empower the youths through job creation and provision of basic needs.
Prince Madumere stressed that the women and the elderly would be provided with great opportunities to excel and enhance their potential in the Owerri zone.
He emphasised that windows of opportunity would be created by providing basic needs and job opportunities to the teeming populace and great educational, vocational, and economic opportunities within the country and overseas.
According to him, the vision is anchored in his blueprint and passion to liberate the populace and create pathways for self-reliance, economic stability, and global exposure for the youths.
The Imo East Senatorial top contender noted that the Owerri zone is gifted with talented and hard-working youths who possess diverse potential but appear limited by economic trends, unemployment, lack of opportunities, and inadequate access to global platforms that could assist them in contributing adequately to societal growth and sustainability.
He said, “Our youths are the greatest assets we have as a nation. We must invest in them properly and provide opportunities, mentorship, and support systems; they will transform the nation positively and contribute immensely to the global developmental agenda.”
Prince Madumere revealed that poverty eradication cannot be achieved through short-term mechanisms but through championing strategic investment and planning in human capital development, education, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunities that enable citizens to become financially buoyant.
He commended the National Secretary of PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, for his immense contribution to the stability of the party in Imo State.
He also eulogised the national leader of PDP, Barr. Nyesom Wike, for his fatherly role in unifying the party nationally and serving as the pillar as they march on triumphantly.
He said, “We must change the narrative; Owerri Zone must be liberated, and the time is now. We must reclaim our common heritage and serve the people conscientiously; the time for the citizenry to feel the impact of democracy is now and there will be no excuses
He urged the Owerri zone electorate and stakeholders to embrace this paradigm shift anchored on transparency, visibility, and connectivity, which represents the vision and cardinal programme of the Journey of Grace 3 senatorial candidates Prince Madumere, Onyeri
ri, and Ejiogu, who received certificates of return.
