The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has outlined his administration’s economic blueprint, promising to create an enabling environment for businesses, attract investments and ensure equitable development across the state if elected.
Speaking during an interactive session with the leadership of the Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC) at its secretariat in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyebamiji said his ambition was driven by a desire to reposition Osun for sustainable growth through strategic investments in key sectors of the economy.
He explained that a team of professionals had already been constituted to develop practical policies that would address the state’s pressing challenges, with priority attention on power generation, agriculture, education, healthcare and workers’ welfare.
According to the APC standard bearer, revitalising these critical sectors would stimulate economic activities, create employment opportunities and improve the quality of life of residents.
“Our aspiration is to build an Osun where businesses can flourish and every community enjoys the dividends of good governance. We have assembled experts to design practical solutions that will accelerate development immediately we assume office,” he said.
Oyebamiji also assured residents that his administration would promote fairness in governance, stressing that public resources would be distributed without discrimination to ensure balanced development across all parts of the state.
He noted that the founding fathers of Osun envisioned a united and progressive state, urging citizens not to allow religious or ethnic differences to undermine the collective pursuit of development.
Expressing confidence ahead of the August 15 governorship election, the APC candidate reaffirmed his commitment to a peaceful electoral process, pledging to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the poll is conducted in a free, fair and credible atmosphere.
Receiving the APC governorship candidate and his campaign team, the President of the Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, described Oyebamiji as a longstanding supporter of the Muslim community and acknowledged his contributions to humanitarian causes.
While reiterating that the OSMC remains non-partisan, Olawuyi said the organisation used the meeting to present issues it considers important to the development of the state, including the need for equity in governance, justice in resource allocation and greater recognition of Islamic law within the framework of the Constitution.
He urged whoever emerges victorious in the forthcoming governorship election to govern with fairness, inclusiveness and a commitment to the welfare of all residents, irrespective of religious or political affiliation.
