The Igbo Community Association (ICA), Jalingo Branch, has endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Taraba State.
In a letter dated July 3, 2026, and signed by its President-General, Deacon Michael C. Adili, the association said the decision followed a critical assessment of Governor Kefas’ achievements over the past three years and the steps he has taken to attract more development to the state.
The association praised Kefas’ efforts in tackling insecurity and his commitment to ensuring a safer, crime-free society in Taraba State.
The letter read in part: “We wish to inform the general public that our decision to endorse Governor Agbu Kefas for a second term is not politically engineered. As a community, the unanimous decision came after a critical look at the governor’s achievements.
“We believe that electing Governor Kefas for a second term would not only address immediate developmental needs but also build a better future for the younger generation.”
The Igbo community also commended the Kefas administration’s free education policy, saying it has gone a long way in reducing the burden of school fees on parents.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the Agbu Kefas Re-election Campaign, Hon. Danladi Baido, thanked the Igbo community for choosing development over politics.
Baido, on behalf of the governor, assured the Igbo community of the administration’s continued commitment to fairness and inclusiveness for all residents of Taraba State, regardless of tribe or background.
