The Kwankwaso National Mobilisation (KNM) has made known its resolve to record massive votes in the 2027 general elections in the southwest region of the country.
The newly inaugurated coordinator of the group in Oyo State, Mr Bababowale Olagbenro, stated this while delivering his address during the inauguration of new executives held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, at the weekend.
Olagbenro noted that the Kwankwaso’s camp has declared that the Southwest will be won by a landslide in 2027, saying that it is not mere rhetoric, but a strategic directive that flows from the coalition’s understanding that Nigeria is tired of the status quo.
He said: “Our national leader has made it clear that the 2027 election will be a battle between Nigerians and the oppressors. Here in Oyo State, we have been tasked to be the tip of the spear.
“Many of you may have heard the news. Our movement has aligned with the broader coalition that brings together the Obidient Movement and the Kwankwasiyya Movement under a unified national platform, the OK Movement. Senator Kwankwaso has willingly accepted the role of running mate to Peter Obi, not for personal glory, but because he believes that this is the best combination to rescue Nigeria.
“This is a historic alliance. It is a merger of the North’s most formidable grassroots political structure with the South’s most energetic and youth-driven movement. It is the kind of coalition that the old order fears, and it is the kind of coalition that will produce the landslide we seek in the South-West.
“We are in Oyo State, the political heart of the Southwest. This is the state that produced the first truly pan-Nigerian political movements in our history. Today, we are called to do it again. The Kwankwaso National Mobilisation has called for a landslide victory in the Southwest, and Oyo State must lead that charge.”
In his address, National Coordinator, KNM, Honourable Ahmad Haliru Sawaba, charged the new state executives to be proactive and try as much as possible to avoid distraction which truncate their efforts.
Honourable Sawaba, therefore, assured the Oyo KNM executives of neccessary support capable of helping them to deliver on their mandate. He called on other members of the group to cooperate with the newly inaugurated executives in order to achieve the desired result.
The National Secretary, Adeniyi Alayande, in his remarks, said the group is poised on following the steps of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who he described as a true leader who has continuously invested in human lives.
