Zulum hosts North-East govs in Maiduguri for 13th forum meeting

Borno Governor and Chairman of the North East Governors’ Forum, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, is hosting the five other Governors of the subregion for the Forum’s 13th regular meeting in Maiduguri.

 

The visiting Governors are Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Dr Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, among other distinguished guests.

Babagana Umara Zulum, in a statement, said, “On behalf of the Government and the good people of Borno State, I warmly welcome my brother Governors of the subregion and our distinguished guests to Maiduguri for the 13th regular meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum.”

 

The two-day meeting begins today, Friday, October 2, and ends on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Maiduguri.

 

The Governors are expected to discuss a range of issues affecting the sub-region, including strengthening good governance, promoting peaceful coexistence, improving security and the socioeconomic well-being of the people of the North East.

 

The North East Governors’ Forum is a platform for regional cooperation, joint policy action and coordinated development across Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.
