The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Zamfara, Alhaji Sani Yusuf Danmasani, has unveiled the party’s development blueprint and commenced grassroots mobilisation and house-to-house consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Danmasani disclosed this on Sunday in Gusau while speaking with journalists, saying the party had begun engaging residents, particularly youths, through town hall meetings and grassroots mobilisation.

He said the consultations formed part of the party’s strategy to secure support for the 2027 elections and communicate its development agenda to residents across the state.

According to him, the party’s blueprint prioritises infrastructure development, education, economic growth, and security, and commits to addressing the state’s challenges.

“The Labour Party has a good plan to promote development in various sectors, especially education, the economy and the security challenges facing the state.

“We have an economic blueprint for the development of the state,” he said.

On insecurity, Danmasani said the party would adopt appropriate strategies to tackle the security challenges confronting Zamfara and other parts of the North-West if elected.

He said the party was concerned about the state’s security situation and the wider region, adding that its proposed programmes would also focus on poverty alleviation and youth inclusion in governance.

The governorship candidate further said the party planned to make skills acquisition programmes compulsory for young people to equip them with practical skills and improve their economic independence.

He explained that the initiative was intended to reduce youths’ dependence on government support by enabling them to acquire skills for self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
