Former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafadeen Tunji Ishola, has reaffirmed his full support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

Ishola made this affirmation during a consultative meeting with the Egba League of Imams and Alfas in Abeokuta, where he praised Senator Adeola Yayi’s track record, character, and vision for the state.

Expressing his unwavering support for the senator’s candidacy, Ambassador Ishola, who had previously consolidated his political structure in the state to back the APC’s gubernatorial candidate, described Senator Adeola Yayi as the ideal leader to propel Ogun State into its next phase of development.

“I have no doubt about your capacity and experience to govern and improve the fortunes of Ogun. “You have my full support, now and forever, because what matters is the development of Ogun State, and I know you are equally committed to it, State,” he stated.

Reflecting on his own service to the state and the nation, Ishola emphasized the shared dedication required to advance Ogun State.

“Ogun State has been immensely beneficial to me. I have served in various capacities both in Ogun State and nationally. I was the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of State for Finance, Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, and Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Given this background, I feel it is my duty to align with the party’s position and support the progress of Ogun State,” he added.

Senator Adeola Yayi’s gubernatorial campaign continues to gain significant momentum, with a rising wave of endorsements from diverse stakeholders throughout Ogun State.

His candidacy has been formally backed by the Ijebu Traditional Council of Obas, traditional rulers in Yewaland, community leaders in Ogun Waterside, and the Arewa Community in Ogun State. Additionally, the APC candidate has received endorsements from political heavyweights including former governors Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel, Ibikunle Amosun, and the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
